Cancer is sly, tricky, and complex. There's a lot that needs to be done in order to continually create an environment in the body where cancer just doesn't want to be. And even after years of supporting women and over a decade of receiving a formal education with a focus in cancer, I recognize that one person (i.e. me) can't know or do everything. So, in The Roadmap To Recovery, I'm bringing you the whole team to get the full, whole-body support you need.
The Flourish coaches have been chosen based on their ability to have one foot in the research while the other is steadily standing in the realm of holistic medicine, creating a balance of care that prioritizes the hard facts and conventional practices, alongside looking deeper at you as a person and going beyond a cookie cutter approach. They understand the complexities of making hard lifestyle changes when it comes to taste buds, time, family, and more. They'll be there with you along the way to encourage, troubleshoot, and re-evaluate as needed. Meet the team below!

Dr Megan Bernard is a board-certified naturopathic doctor and founder of The Roadmap to Recovery, a research-backed and personalized cancer recovery and recurrence prevention program for women who want to feel empowered and energized after the main parts of their cancer treatment.
After supporting hundreds of women through their diagnosis and treatment and then hearing about their lack of satisfaction with cancer nutrition and lifestyle support in the medical system, she decided that something great had to be done to help these women to regain control of their future and to feel better.
Too little is being done to support the health and well-being of people after treatment. The focus is on the cancer, and not enough is being done to nourish their bodies, reduce short-term and long-term side effects, and use research-backed complementary medicine. The evidence is there in the research, our medical system is just too burnt out to pay attention to it. This sends the patient to Google, which tells them to purchase fistfuls of supplements and go on these restrictive diets that really won't make a difference.
And worst of all, once treatment is finished, the medical system kind of just spits you out, and you're left on your own looking for how to improve your energy and chances of staying cancer-free. It's a big world out there full of misleading information and it isn't easy to navigate and find what actually works.
So instead of having people bounce around from one fad diet or bad nutrition tip to the next, Dr Bernard developed her step-by-step educational system that teaches you how to optimize your health, get through the side effects of treatment more effectively, and prevent cancer recurrences - without restrictive diets and bad lifestyle advice.
EDUCATION: Dr Bernard has been published in several scientific journals for her work on triple-negative breast cancer and the immune system. She has a Bachelor of Health Science, a Masters of Science, and a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine, all having a focus on cancer (11 years of post-secondary research and education!). In addition, she has completed dozens of conventional and complementary oncology courses, covering categories such as IV nutritional therapies, pain injections, cancer nutrition, and more.
Her broad education gives her the skill to combine the best of conventional medicine and holistic knowledge. Most importantly, Megan has a passion for helping women to make realistic and effective nutrition and lifestyle changes to prevent cancer and help them live their best lives. No matter if you've never eaten a vegetable in your life, or you've already put massive change into place to improve your odds against cancer, she can set you up with a simple and effective plan.
